2012

2012 was a very memorable and meaningful year in the life of Good Shepherd UCC. In January we gave a fond, but bittersweet send off to our pastor Pat Russell, and wished him well in retirement back in his native Colorado. And we enthusiastically welcomed Rev. Lynn Carmen-Bodden as our Interim Pastor. With Pastor Lynn’s guidance, GSUCC maintained our active and engaged series of worship and social activities.

The year included 2 community-oriented fund raising events.  Naturally, in both cases, food was involved!  Spring was the time for our annual bar-b-que dinner. Platters were filled with GSUCC pit-cooked pig and plenty of southern-flavored sides.  Many people in the community marked their calendars each year, in anticipation of ordering meals during this event.

Fall brought our annual Harvest Fest.  An ideal time to give thanks for the many blessings that we have received, both individually and as a church family.  The evening included entertainment, a family-style cooked turkey dinner, and plenty of opportunities to purchase or bid on goods and services donated by members and friends of the congregation.
