Wednesday EvenPsalm Services
We have shared beautiful evenings of worship at our EvenPsalm services and invite you to join us
each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. EvenPsalm is a contemplative outdoor service held in the parking lot
of Good Shepherd. When you arrive, we invite you to notice the beauty of the surroundings and let
yourself—body and soul—sink into this time of worship. We ask all folks who are able to bring your
own chair or blanket, but a limited number of chairs will be set up for those who need them. You
might also want to bring a flashlight or lantern as the evenings get darker.
Please maintain at least six feet between you and anyone not in your household and wear a mask at
all times. Except for the worship crew and emergencies, the inside of our buildings is off limits.
The worship service is a series of activities and quiet that will last about 30 minutes. During the “contemplation” time, you may visit the memorial garden or the community garden, dance with the Spirit, or simply stroll the grounds. You may also journal or color. Journals and Psalm coloring books
will be available. Please choose one, and it is yours to keep. Bring your book each time you come to
worship. A bell will call us back to center ourselves in our seats and prepare for the music portion.
We welcome children; and while this is a contemplative service, we do not expect silence. Feel free
to dress them in their PJs and bring books or toys for them to enjoy on a blanket or in their chair. At
your first service, you may pick up a “Psalms for Young Children” book, which is yours to keep.
Please keep it in a special place and bring it to each service. Older children are also welcome to the
journals or coloring books provided.
